What
Is Shadow Trapunto ?
Here is an example of a shadow trapunto
quilt.
Unlike an usual quilt, this one has two additional layers. The
top layer is a sheer fabric ( I use organza ). The white motifs under organza
are made from batting. Under them there are the well known three layers of a quilt.

I found out that for practicing and learning
the technique, working on small pieces is the best option.
Even for a skilled quilter working at this scale is such a nice

the shadow trapunto technique difficult ?
The technique itself
is not difficult at all, it requires just some patience for trimming away the
batting.
All that trimming will worth the effort in the end.
3.
Do I need experience in free motion quilting in order to stitch these patterns
?
If your skills at stitching a design following a line are not
so good, don't worry !
By the end of one of these projects your skills will
be greatly improved.
The pattern is
printed on paper and you will stitch it through paper.
From my experience
stitching a pattern through paper is the easiest method of practicing free motion
quilting following a line because the lines are very visible.
There are
some tricks you need to use but you will find them all inside of this ebook.
